Le Sabot montagnard

In competition

Summary

In 2024, Ashley and Quentin set out to bring their three Kyrgyz horses home to the foot of Mont Blanc. On an unusual journey through the mountains of Europe, the two adventurers relied on the invaluable knowledge of mountain people to guide them. Over nearly 3,000 km, they share their love for the mountains and horses, while highlighting an age-old way of travelling in close contact with nature and local traditions.

Festival highlight

Mountain adventure isn’t just about north faces and 8,000-meter peaks, as Ashley and Quentin prove in this beautifully crafted film. Crossing the Alps with three Kyrgyz horses in the 21st century is, to say the least, a tale from days of old. It’s a grand adventure, in reality, and a return to their roots. The mountains at a horse’s pace—could this be what real life is all about?
