Summary
SAMA tells the story of Hiba, a Syrian who fled to Lebanon, and Sabine, a young woman from the Lebanese town of Bar Elias. What brings them together is their shared love for climbing – a passion they discovered through ClimbAID’s project in the Bekaa Valley. But SAMA is about more than just climbing. It’s about four young people whose lives are shaped by displacement and exclusion — and their search for identity, friendship, and hope.

Festival highlight
Climbing, by definition, is about escaping the world’s burdens. Rising above the human magma, lightening one’s sorrows. This particularly moving film illustrates climbing’s capacity to offer an alternative to the present when it becomes too overwhelming.
